Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana enjoys tangos and drama and opera. Ana started learning how to play and sing from an early age, along alongside her mother. She was given more formal vocal training when she was 16 years old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music in the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. As a student and being a young professional in Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles and choirs. After 2000, she emigrated to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she settled in her current home in Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. In addition to being an instructor and performer in the local area, her love of arts and music keeps her active in a variety of projects. Ana is also previously a member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes, with her performance songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation, for keeping this music vibrant.
